On the 18th March, Barça will take on Manchester City in the second leg of their Champions League match to advance to the next round. Just a few days later, one of the most exciting rivalry showdowns in all of sports will take place as the team clashes with Real Madrid in “El Clásico” on 22nd Marc. Whether you plan on attending one of the games or watching the action at one of the various bars in the city, it will be an unforgettable experience cheering along side Blaugrana supporters.

Whether you’re a car enthusiast or not, Espiritu de Montjuïc is a great way to have fun with the family while taking a visit to the city’s past. This three day event takes you back in time to when the Montjuïc track was filled with classic cars and a magical atmosphere.
There will be various activities for people of all ages including motors and aircraft exhibitions, live music, an air show and more. General admission to the event starts at 15€ along with weekend and family packages available on the official website.
Feel the romance on Sant Jordi’s Day (23rd April)
Barcelona becomes a city full of books, flowers and romance on the day of Sant Jordi (Saint George), a celebration similar to Valentine’s Day. 23rd April marks the day of Sant Jordi’s death and the festivities turn the city red and yellow for the whole day in honor of the patron Saint of Catalonia.
Legend has it that Sant Jordi gave a rose to the princess whom he saved from a fearsome dragon. And so a tradition began whereby men give women roses and women give them books in exchange (23rd April is also Word Book Day). Many people take to the streets to celebrate, including in Plaça de Catalunya, Las Ramblas and Plaça Sant Jaume.
Be entertained at the Feria de Abril (25th April to 4th May)
The Feria de Abril, one of the largest spring fairs in Spain, creates a festive and exciting environment in the city. The Andalusian fair was started in the 1970s, replicating Seville’s famous festival of the same name, and a version of it is still held every year in Barcelona.
Women dress up in traditional outfits and are joined by men to dance. Colorful tents, also known as “casetas,” fill the streets allowing those in attendance to enjoy the cultural food and drinks along with the many games, rides and other attractions at the fair. This free event lasts 10 days and is usually held in Parc del Fòrum with thousands of locals and visitors going along every year.
Witness the Barcelona Grand Prix (9th-10th May)
Barcelona becomes the centre of the racing world in May with the Santander 2015 Spanish Grand Prixmaking for an adrenaline-filled weekend. Leading up to the main event you can check out practices along with the qualifying run on Friday and Saturday before the race on Sunday.
The event will be held at the Montmeló Circuit just outside Barcelona and tickets can be bought online.
Rock on at Primavera Sound Festival (28th-30th May)
Rock music festival Primavera Sound will be celebrating its 15th edition at the end of May with multiple artists keeping those in attendance cheering and entertained. Some of the confirmed artists for this year’s festival include well-known bands like the The Black Keys, The Strokes and Interpol.
Most of the concerts will be taking place in Parc del Fòrum but other areas such as Parc de Ciutadella and Sala Apolo will also be used.
